Bot-Slaying Hunters from Korea : Ticketing Australia Recap
Our Ride at Ticketing Australia 2025
STC Lab is actively expanding into the APAC region, in addition to Japan and the United States. Reflecting this commitment to global expansion, the company participated in Ticketing AU 2025, held in Parramatta, Australia, over two days from November 19 to 20.
Ticketing Australia is an annual event hosted by INTIX (International Ticketing Association), serving as one of the most authoritative global forums for knowledge sharing and best practice exchange within the ticketing industry. This year, approximately 270 ticketing industry professionals participated, fostering active exchange.
Bots, the Ticketing Industry’s Biggest Concern
At this exhibition, STC Lab gained a valuable opportunity to directly experience the trends in the ticketing industry and the voices from the field while networking with various companies. In particular, we showcased our flagship solutions, BotManager and NetFUNNEL, addressing two major challenges faced by ticketing providers: blocking illegal bots’ attack and managing large-scale traffic surges.
NetFUNNEL
NetFUNNEL is a Virtual Waiting Room solution that manages and controls traffic in real time. It helps maintain service stability even during large-scale access events. It controls user flow, prevents server overload, and provides a fair access environment. Key use cases include queue management for event, reservation, and ticketing services.
BotManager
BotManager is an abnormal access detection and blocking solution that protects web services from automated programs or scripts. It distinguishes malicious bots from real users based on access patterns, frequency, time zones, and environment, enhancing service stability and security. BotManager is used to prevent unfair ticket hoarding, resale attempts, and indiscriminate crawling.
Highlights from the Bot Hunters Booth
Our booth was designed with a “Bot Hunters” concept to clearly convey the message that we catch malicious bots. To draw attention, our team lead dressed up in a Korean grim reaper cosplay inspired by the currently trending “K-POP Demon Hunters” character style, which instantly became a crowd magnet. Our creativity and passion captured the attention of many visitors.
We also engaged with booth visitors through a ticketing game that simulated real competition against bots, as well as a lucky-draw event. These interactive activities helped to draw attention and encouraged active participation, allowing us to leave a strong impression of STCLab’s solutions on many industry professionals.
